WIN or LEARN?

Which is more important to you and why?

We all have different ways (context) in which we view the world. And, the context by which we view the world is created through our experiences in life to date. Each context generates predictable strategies for navigating the world and those strategies have fairly reliable outcomes.

A few very common contexts I see in my work include, but are not limited to:

- addicted to being right

- I win you lose

- I lose you win

- victim

- nothing is ever good enough

- it's all about me

- be perfect

As you can image, each of these ways of showing up in the world have certain ways of BEING which create fairly predictable relationships, experiences and thinking. If we use the 'addicted to being right' context as an example, often this way of BEING pushes people away and causes anxiety, resentment, anger and discord. Relationships tend to be shallow and far between. They tend to attract people who are easy to manipulate and it all stems from an overwhelming sense of not being good enough.

Every personal interaction is an opportunity to learn OR an opportunity to win. Sometimes walking away with the powerful lesson is winning.
